Scams: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is…

According to the ACCC’s recently released annual scam report, the total reported losses from scams in 2017 was over $340 million (a $40 million increase compared to 2016). The types of scams that are currently out there can be broadly categorised into the following areas: attempts to gain personal information; buying and selling; investments; dating and romance; fake charities; threats and extortion; jobs and employment; unexpected money; and, unexpected winnings.

When it comes to scams, it’s important to remember an old proverb, ‘If it seems too good to be true, it probably is’. In this funny video, we see the comedy duo, Hamish and Andy, with assistance from Dr. Chris Brown, bewilder onlookers at Werribee Open Range Zoo when they are presented with some questionable behaviour from two highly evolved primates.
